Two New Riders for NTUC IncomeShield Plan

Good news! NTUC has recently intro­duced two new riders — Daily Cash Rider and Child Ill­ness Rider, to enhance your IncomeShield Plan. With Daily Cash Rider, you will have access to cash bene­fits every­day if you are hos­pit­al­ised and receive a Get Well Bene­fit upon your dis­charge. The Child Ill­ness Rider, on the oth­er hand, provides a one-time lump sum bene­fit of up to $20,000 should the insured child be dia­gnosed with any of the spe­cified child-related ill­nesses.

 

Daily Cash Rider

You can now enhance the cov­er­age of your Assist Rider with the new Daily Cash Rider from NTUC Income. With it, you have access to cash bene­fits every­day if you are hos­pit­al­ised. You will also receive a Get Well Bene­fit upon your dis­charge. These cash bene­fits provide you with addi­tion­al funds to off­set treat­ment costs and day-to-day expendit­ure. Plus, should a pro­longed hos­pit­al stay be neces­sary, you will be glad to know that your daily cash bene­fits are pay­able for hos­pit­al­isa­tion peri­ods of up to 365 days, provid­ing you with an added source of funds while you receive treat­ment.

  1. This bene­fit is pay­able per hos­pit­al­isa­tion, sub­ject to the fol­low­ing con­di­tions:
    Except for acci­dent, incid­ence of claim occurs after a wait­ing peri­od of 30 days from the com­mence­ment date of the policy. • Peri­od of hos­pit­al­isa­tion is 6 hours or more. • Pay­able up to a max­im­um of 365 days per peri­od of hos­pit­al­isa­tion. • For day sur­gery claims, the bene­fit is only pay­able if the day sur­gery is per­formed in a hos­pit­al with room and board charges and requires at least 6 hours of hos­pit­al­isa­tion. Day sur­gery in a clin­ic is not eli­gible for the Daily Cash Bene­fit.
  2. This bene­fit is pay­able upon dis­charge from a hos­pit­al, sub­ject to the fol­low­ing con­di­tions:
    Pay­ment of the Daily Cash Bene­fit. • Peri­od of hos­pit­al­isa­tion is 48 hours or more. • Should death of the insured occurs dur­ing the peri­od of hos­pit­al­isa­tion, this bene­fit will not be pay­able.
  3. Premi­um rates are non-guar­an­teed and may be reviewed from time to time.

 

Child Illness Rider

As a par­ent, noth­ing is more import­ant than your child’s health and well-being.
By adding the Child Ill­ness Rider to your child’s Incomeshield plan, you can ensure a cash resource of up to $20,000 should one of the covered ill­nesses befall him or her. With less fin­an­cial dis­trac­tions, you will be bet­ter able to devote your fullest atten­tion to caring for your child.

Lump Sum Bene­fit

The Child Ill­ness Rider provides a one-time lump sum bene­fit of up to $20,000 should the insured child be dia­gnosed with any of the spe­cified child-related ill­nesses.

  • Rheum­at­ic Dis­ease with Valv­u­lar Impair­ment

  • Hae­mo­phil­ia
  • Still’s Dis­ease
  • Men­tal Retard­a­tion due to Sick­ness, Injury and/or Acci­dent

 

Covered Acci­dent­al Frac­tures (Skull, Spine, Pel­vis or Femur)

  • For any acci­dents that res­ults in frac­tures to the skull, spine, pel­vis or femur, a cash bene­fit of 10% of the Sum Assured2 will be paid out, up to 100% of the Sum Assured.

  1. The dia­gnos­is occurs after a wait­ing peri­od of 60 days from the com­mence­ment date of the policy. For leuk­aemia dia­gnoses, the wait­ing peri­od is 90 days from the policy com­mence­ment date. • The insured sur­vives for a peri­od of 30 days from the date of dia­gnos­is. • Total policy claims lim­it is 100% of the sum assured.
